GUMI

GUMIは、2000年生まれ、2022年よりアーティストとして活動開始、2023年3月に明治学院大学英文学科を卒業し、香港などでのグループショーやアートピースのリリースなど、日本を拠点とし世界で活動するペインターです。
迷いのない線とクリアな色彩にはアニメの影響がうかがえる。子供の頃から漫画の模写が好きだったGUMIは、幼い頃にに影響を受けた日本の漫画やアニメを研究し、その記憶にある映像や絵の断片から想像を膨らませる。
GUMIの作品の魅力は、ポップアニメを彷彿とさせる可愛いキャラクターと、どこかノスタルジックなトーンで構成されるクールでユーモラスな独自の世界観、そして確かな画力と表現力に圧倒されます。

GUMI was born in 2000, started his activities as an artist in 2022, graduated from the Department of English Literature at Meiji Gakuin University in March 2023, and is based in Japan and active around the world, including group shows and art piece releases in Hong Kong and elsewhere. I’m a painter.
You can see the influence of anime in the clear lines and clear colors. Ever since he was a child, GUMI has loved copying manga, and researches Japanese manga and anime that influenced him when he was young.
The charm of GUMI’s work is overwhelmed by cute characters reminiscent of pop anime, a cool and humorous unique worldview composed of somewhat nostalgic tones, and solid drawing power and expressiveness.
